Music, a perfect way to spend the weekend.

It’s Sunday at 1:53 PM and i’m exhausted but there is still more MUSIC to be experienced – tonight at 5PM Magnolia Boulevard is playing at Mellwood Tavern’s Early Service.
I had the pleasure of standing beside John Clay & The Boxwine Prophets this weekend at the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, Kentucky. I’ll have to admit, it’s one of my favorite experiences in music – being able to stand beside of so many incredible musicians that I truly love and respect. To me, there is no greater feeling in the world than to do something you LOVE and have others appreciate it. I have never been so humbled and blessed by the reactions and compliments from strangers.
Eastwood Records sponsored this new stage at the Master Musicians Festival … I can’t tell you how many strangers I overheard heard saying they liked the music on the Eastwood stage even better than the main stage acts. Congratulations Wes Allen for selecting and supporting GREAT original music. You had some incredible bands on that stage. I didn’t get to see all of them, but one of my favs was definitely Dave Ernst & The Early Favorites. Great fun, variety of tunes and spot on vocals from Frank Green. I told Dave, he’s your Michael Anthony.
And to reference my opening statement, Magnolia Boulevard was on the Eastwood Stage as well, they were MY highlight to the evening…I don’t know that I’ve been this captivated by a band since Tedeschi Trucks. You can tell they are having SO MUCH FUN playing together and they are SO DAMN GOOD. I’m completely star struck, probably because this band captures the essence of everything I love. So do yourself a favor, if you find yourself with time today … Mellwood Tavern’s Early Service – Doors at 3PM – Music starts at 5PM. FREE SHOW!
